Ninth Annual National Pancake Day Fundraiser Aims To Raise $3 Million Benefitting

WHAT:              For the ninth consecutive year, IHOP restaurants® nationwide will offer each guest a free short stack of its famous buttermilk pancakes on National Pancake Day in an effort to raise $3 million for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals programs nationwide.

IHOP®, one of America’s most popular family-friendly restaurants, known for “everything you love about breakfast,” will once again invite guests to enjoy free pancakes during National Pancake Day on February 5, 2013, while celebrating Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals’ 30th Anniversary. On this day, the restaurant chain hopes to raise $3 million as the first national fundraising campaign to kick off the 2013 fundraising year for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.

Enjoy locally grown products and sample great local cuisine at the 2012 Tulare County Farm Bureau’s “Bounty of the County.”

The event will be on September 22nd from 5:00 – 8:00pm, at the Historic Seven Sycamores Ranch in Ivanhoe.

“Bounty of the County” will be a celebration of local agriculture from with bountiful samplings of food, beverages and specialty products grown in Tulare County.

The country casual evening will also include live music by local country rock band Poor Mans Poison as well as door prizes provided by Family Farm Fresh, participating exhibitors and the Farm Bureau.

“We’re excited to provide the community with an event where they can come out and enjoy samples of fine local food and wine in a casual, country environment,” said Steve Godlin, Tulare County Farm Bureau President.

Visalia Wingstop Opening Gets Downright Messy-- and Tasty!

Wingstop of Visalia held its grand opening earlier this month, with a messy-- but tasty-- event! The restaurant chain hosted a wing-eating contest! Andy Plein of Visalia took the top spot, downing 19 wings. Jeremy Alderete of Visalia claimed second place with a dozen wings, and Jeremy Blaswich of Woodlake rounded out the top three, at 11 wings.

Get a Tipsy Tow On St. Patrick's Day

 

Make this St. Patrick’s Day more about St. Paddy and less about the paddy wagon. If you’ve been drinking on St. Patrick’s Day, AAA Northern California will take you and your car home for free.

AAA’s Tipsy Tow program is open to everyone. You do not need to be a AAA member to take advantage of this service to the community.

AAA will offer the service to drinking drivers from 6 p.m. on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17th to 6 a.m. March 18th, potential passengers, party hosts, bartenders, and restaurant managers can call 800-222-4357 (AAA-HELP) for a free tow home of up to ten miles. Just tell the AAA operator, “I need a Tipsy Tow,” and a truck will be on its way.
