Avoid Heartbreak-- Get Your Pet Microchipped for Free!
Valley Oak SPCA is offering 100 free pet microchips on Tuesday, May 7, 5:00-7:00 pm at the Valley Oak SPCA Animal Shelter & Adoption Center, 29016 Highway 99, Visalia.   Be one of the first 100 people at the shelter with your pet and you will receive a Home Again microchip free of charge.   The microchip will be implanted at the time of the event. Limit 2 per household. All pets must be on leashes or in carriers.

Tulare Co. Animal Control Mini-Expo and Adoption Event

Tulare County Animal Control is holding a mini-expo and adoption event on Earth Day, April 20, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., with a bounce house for children, a DJ, food vendors, and pets for adoption, along with raffle prizes. The shelter seeks to beautify its dog park so that families have a place to bond with a dog they are hoping to adopt.


“Potential adoptive pet families need a pleasing environment with grass, plants, and comfortable outdoor furniture where they can bond with the animal and see if that animal is right for their family members,” says Tulare County Animal Control Manager, Paul Grenseman. “Because it is not a pleasant place to spend quality time, a dirt field can be a detriment to adoption rather than an encouragement; we want to provide a pleasing park that is similar to a homeowner’s yard.”

Celebrate the Holidays with the Valley Oak SPCA

Please join the Valley Oak SPCA as it celebrates with many friends and supporters this holiday season during its annual Holiday Open House at the shelter, Saturday, December 8 from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, 29016 Highway 99, Visalia.

The Holiday Open House is open to the public.  Guests are asked to kindly bring a gift from the animals' Wish List or a monetary donation.

November is Adopt A Senior Pet Month Think of a pet that is already trained and doesn't chew or scratch everything in sight - a pet who will love you unconditionally, that's what you get when you adopt a senior pet. Some people may worry that a senior pet comes with problems, in most cases they've had a home and they want one again. Have You Seen Me?

Hello! My name is Keno—and I miss my family!

I am six months old, and my family last saw me in Tulare, in the area of English Gables, on Gem between Merritt and Prosperity around 5 p.m. on October 27th.

I was bad and escaped under a fence.

I am a maltese/poodle/shitzu mix, and I’m brownish-grey, with a slight scar on my underside (I was recently neutered).

I weigh just under 10 lbs, and I was not wearing a collar (yes, I’ve learned my lesson).

My mommy needs me—I bring joy to her life, after she lost a loved one earlier this year.

By the way, my mommy is offering a REWARD.

I miss my home, my mommy and my regular food.
