Grab Lunch or Dinner and Help a Sick Teen in Visalia TODAY | Community Spirit
Today is the day to pitch in and help a sick Visalia teen-- whose family is struggling to make ends meet.
13-year-old Sara Wright is battling an autonomic nervous system disorder, bleeding disorder and several other medical issues.
Friends and loved ones say it's tough for Sara's weak body to get up each day-- that she rarely makes it to school.
Her mother Teressa had to shut down her photography business 3 years ago to help take care of Sara, while her father continues to work and support his family.
As you can imagine between doctors visits, traveling, co-pays and everyday living expenses money is tight.
So today, a fundraiser is being held at Buffalo Wild Wings of Visalia.
Stop by any time that day, and mention to your server you are there for Sara.
A percentage of the proceeds will go to the family for expenses to help her get well. The only thing you have to do is come in and enjoy yourself and the great atmosphere this restaurant has to offer.
Family friend Ashley Nelson works at the restaurant, and is offering another incentive: if you bring any canned good today, you will receive a raffle ticket for each can.
Your ticket will go in a drawing and each hour a name will be pulled to win a gift basket.
At the end of the day all the cans brought in will be given to an organization that will give the cans to people in need and feed them on Thanksgiving.
If you have items you'd like to donate for the gift baskets, you can email Ashley at: firstname.lastname@example.org
